* Consumers who know know and understand electronics and also is seeking a vendor experts

* Novice needs help to understand which product is right for them

Here is a list of terms to help you go from zero to expert knowledge at any time:

** Formats Disk **
CD: Abbreviation for Compact Disc Read Only Memory (CD-ROM) is a pre-pressed CD containing data access, but can not written by a computer.

CD-R: A CD-R (recordable) allows content to be written once, read many times. This type of disc stores of all types of media files.

CD-RW: This is a rewritable medium that allows content written many times and read many times. The CD-RW can also be used to store different content formats.

VCD: Also known as Video Compact Disc is a format for storing video compact discs, and no different from a VCR in that you can not skip chapters or the sight of rich data, only fast forward and rewind.

SVCD: This means Super Video Compact Disk. This VCD is a successor and was intended to challenge the DVD format. The quality and storage capacity is higher to a VCD, but lower than that of DVD.

DVD: Digital Versatile Disc or Digital Video Discs. They seem to CD store, but six times more data and can show video into chapters.

DVD RW / DVD + RW / DVD-RW: These three terms mean essentially the same. These are recordable DVDs. It can be rewritten about a thousand times, which are very useful as a means of backup. The + and - and the rules of competition, although it is generally accepted that higher + And therefore the industry standard rewritable discs.

** ** Media Formats
MPEG 1, 2, 3 and 4: These compression standards for audio and video group by the Moving Pictures Export Group. The numbers refer to versions 1 is the MPEG 1 and MPEG 4 is the latest. These rules apply to all transmission and distribution networks.

MP4: This is another name for the MPEG-4 Part 14 standard created by the Moving Pictures Experts Group standards. This standard specifies compression for video and audio. Commercially, a number of manufacturers use format MP4 can play both audio and video. But this is misleading, as MP4 products must be able to play files with the extension. mp4.

Of WMA: Windows Media Audio is a standard for audio data compression developed by Microsoft.

DivX: This is a technique compression that makes long video sequences into smaller parts without losing too much detail. It uses the MPEG-4 compression.

XVID: The opposite of DivX is a compression technique and a direct competitor to DivX. So does the video compression standard based on MPEG-4. The difference between the two is DivX is proprietary, while XviD is distributed under GNU license, or is free to use.

MP3: Designed by the Moving Pictures Expert Group, this is a standard for compressing audio files.

JPEG: This is a compression standard for photographs and is used by most digital cameras. With that allows users to playback images from the camera on the portable DVD screen.

External ports ** **
AV: Audio / video entry point for connecting external devices like a camera video directly on the player

AV Output: Audio / Video output point to connect the DVD player to your home TV, the vehicle system, etc.

Salida VGA: Video Graphics Array port, first introduced in computers now popular in portable devices used to connect to LCD displays, among others.

USB: Universal Serial Bus is one of more interface devices common in a variety of computing platforms, audio / video. With the USB you can connect a range of devices for DVD players, including cell phones, laptops, computers, MP3 players and MP4 etc

SD / MMC / MS Card Reader: Secure Digital / Multimedia Card and Memory Stick are all types of flash memory used in portable electronic devices MP3/MP4 players, digital cameras, camcorders, mobile phones, etc. A card reader for these devices ensures the content of them can be played in DVD player.

HDMI: High-Definition Multimedia Interface is an interface for audio / video for transmission of uncompressed digital data.

It is the digital alternative to analog standards such as:
* RF
* Coaxial cable
* The composite video
* S-Video
* SCART
* Component video
* D-Terminal
* VGA

Communicates HDMI digital audio / video sources such as set-top boxes, Blu-ray Disc players, personal computers (PCs), game consoles (such as PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360), and AV receivers to compatible digital audio devices, computer monitors and digital TVs

S-Video: Video is a separate analog video signal that carries video data as two separate signals, light (brightness) and chrominance (color).

This differs from the compound that carries video picture information as a sign of lower individual quality component video and carried separately picture information as three high-quality signals. S-Video takes standard definition video (usually in the resolution of 480i or 576i), but does not carry audio on one cable.

Encoders ** TV **
PAL: Phase Alternating Line is a system of color encoding systems used in broadcast television is a big part of the world. PAL-encoded DVDs can only be played on players that can decode the signal.

SECAM: Developed in France, is a coding system for analog color television. It is used mainly in France, parts of Europe East some former French colonies.

NTSC: Developed in the U.S., is a color coding system for analog television. Used primarily in the U.S..

Signal to Noise: Signal to noise ratio compares the level of the desired signal (as music) with the background noise level. The higher the percentage, the less obtrusive the background noise is.

Screen Resolution: This refers to the number of rows and columns of pixels on the LCD screen. So a 800x600 resolution screen means that has 800 rows of pixels and 600 columns.

Bit rate: Bit rate is a measure of the rate information contained in a video sequence. Was quantified using bits per second (bit / s or bps) unit or Megabits per second (Mbit / s). A higher bit rate allows better video quality.

Modulation / demodulation: This is a digital transfer method of stream data and converts it into a current analog.

FFT Pattern: Refers to the FFT Fast Fourier Transform algorithm is used to decode digital signals broadcast by television stations and broadcasting.

A pattern FFT is used in DVB-T broadcasts and generally refers to signals being modulated to 2048, 4096, or 8192 carriers (2k, 4k, 8k mode, respectively).

FEC: Forward Error Correction is a system for sending extra data transmissions so that television stations can quickly the cause of the errors and correct them.

NES / SNES: Nintendo Entertainment System / Super Nintendo Entertainment System System. These are the consoles game released by Nintendo in the 1990s. Many third-party devices come with these integrated, including portable DVD players.

ESP Protection: Electronic Skip Protection basically ensures the reproduction of audio / video is jumping without moving ... especially when they say that in a car.

** But why do you have to know all this? **
The digital consumer is aware of the interoperability between different digital formats, and usually in search of products that can be duplicated in more than one function.

For example, a portable DVD player with a screen so large enough to reproduce images from a digital camera can mean that consumers prefer to spend less on a camera with a large screen and use the player Portable DVD instead of viewing pictures.

This is possible with the addition of the SD / MMC / MS card reader.

Similarly most family vacation today have a video camera as a must. For these consumers the ability to playback home movies on a screen largest is a must have.

A portable DVD player that supports multiple video formats including NTSC, PAL, SECAM, etc makes more useful.

The ability to receive multiple input signals of television is essential, given the changes taking place in broadcast technology. With the issuance digital TV replaces analog signals around the world, it is essential that the portable DVD player to the inputs needed to play the TV formats.

The game is another "nice to have" based on a family holiday.

The ability of either connect to existing game systems or the fact that it incorporated a player goes a long way in making a sale.

Knowing what the terms mean that are largely to know who to target particularly in the portable DVD players and what features to play and that points to ignore.

So there today, to begin exploring to improve your ads and start selling to more market. The balance of your bank will love you for it.
