My guitar amp is humming so much,?

I am playing a schecter c-1 Elite to a shure pgx14 wireless system down through to my behringer btr2000 rack tuner to my rocktron hush super c to my peavey Ultra tube head which is going through my a standard raven 4x12 cab.

What's wrong? I turn it up to 5 and it hums so loud..
Is it the wireless system, the crappy cab, or the lack of my knowledge of my rack units?

It can be a number of things and you really need to do quite a bit of testing to drill down to the offending part (or parts).

Hum typically comes from a guitar with single coil pickups and missing or too little shielding. Or, it can be that you have a computer screen, light dimmers or other electrical component too close to the signal chain.

It may also be that there's a ground loop or some fault in the mains supply.

You will first want to take out anything but the guitar and amp from the chain, playing the guitar with a lead straight into the amp. If it hums, then you have some of the above. Swap leads, guitar and amp and also try the set-up in another room, or better yet house.

This way, you will find out what is causing the problem - if the amp, guitar or mains supply is the culprit.

If it is not, then it's obviously some other part of your equipment. Try first with the wireless + guitar and amp. From there on, add the other component.

If you keep testing things this way, you will eventually find the part - or parts - which are causing you problems.
