Wireless Adapter For Desktop Computer

3 Home Wireless Network Points

Today have a wireless network available to you is more normal than abnormal. Many reasons have led to this Instead, a cost of being. This is very profitable to create a wireless network instead of a wired network.

Due to the increasing popularity of wireless networks, manufacturers more and more computer equipment for their systems with the right hardware for wireless networks. I will talk about 3 major points, wireless networks in computers laptops, desktops, and also the software of these machines

So start with a very important question - Is your laptop or home wireless enabled? So as you can see if your computer has wireless capabilities or not.

Laptops

Many laptops new feature wireless networking capabilities already built into them. If notebook comes with the hardware built into it, then all you need do is make sure that it is enabled and the button on the front (usually) of the laptop turns on. If a PCMIA wireless card is needed on the laptop, make sure it is compatible with the brand of your equipment first. When you install it, make sure you have the driver disk associated with the hardware, and that is handler matches the Windows version you have.

Desktop Computers

If you need to check if your desktop computer has a wireless connection, turn off the computer and turn it around and look for a rod protruding from the bottom of the tower. This would be the wireless antenna as an antenna would be on a radio. If you see anything like this, then your desk probably has a wireless card installed in PCI slot. So buy one that matches the version of Windows that you have on your desktop.

Windows to check the wireless capability

Once everything is installed on your laptop or desktop To use the windows wireless capability to check to make sure the settings are correct. Open the Device Manager in Windows. Look for the adapters network and click the + sign it. Find something on the ground that should not have the term "wireless" is credited. If you see there then you know everything is configured correctly and all you need to do is connect to the wireless network available.

A dose of desktop wireless adapter on the network with two antennas have better reception and range?

I'm looking for a wireless adapter for my computer desktop. I want one that gets better reception and longer range than my current receiving a weak signal. I see some of them have two or more antennas on them and are advertised as rangeboster cards. Are these better and have better range and reception than regular ones with a single antenna.

To put more antennas on the router is only one thing appears functional. The router is being limited by the spectrum of the range that can deliver on, and energy consumption. The other / bigger antenna provides an extra range because the signal is broadcast twice a par and gives you more strength, but not much.
